Part-time Support Counselors work 17.5 hours per week, typically in the afternoons and weekends. The schedule can work very well for students. An Associate's degree in Human Services or current enrollment in a Bachelor's program for Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling is required. Support Counselors provide direct skills teaching, such as personal and home management to the residents, and work closely with all team members. Compensation is $11.00 per hour.  No current openings.

Resident Counselors are full-time, entry-level staff. The schedule, which is known in advance for the calendar year, consists of afternoons and overnights. A bedroom/apartment is provided for sleeping. (Sleep is also paid!). An RC works 1:1 with the residents, teaching them the skills needed to live successfully in the community, such as medication management and socialization. This position is extremely educational and experiential due to the level of interaction with the residents. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling is required. Annual compensation starts at $25,500 for most programs, and is paid hourly. One current opening in an apartment program, serving adults, located in Buffalo; one opening in Amherst, working with seniors. Specify preferred position.

Resident Counselor II: Full-time position serving adults diagnosed with both substance abuse and mental illness. The schedule consists of afternoons, overnights, and weekends. Sleep is permitted and paid. Teach daily living skills such as personal and home management, medication management, and relapse prevention. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling is required. Annual compensation, paid hourly, is $24,777 - $26,720. No current openings.

Young Adult Program: Awake Overnight Counselor works 5 nights per week (M - F), from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. This person must remain awake and provide assistance to residents (ages 18 - 21) as needed. Secondary coverage is also provided by another staff person. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling is required.  Annual compensation range is $23,500 - $25,600 and is paid hourly at $11.29+ an hour. No current openings.

Relief Counselor I's (in Licensed Treatment Residences) work primarily a daytime schedule. In addition, a R CI will cover overnights for a vacationing RC. The R CI provides residents counseling, support, and skills training. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling, plus one year of experience is required. On-call responsibilities are included, and shared with the other Counselor I. Annual compensation starts at $27,500 and is paid hourly. No current openings.

Counselor I's work a daytime schedule, with shared on-call responsibilities. The Counselor provides resident counseling, support, and skill training. The Relief Counselors and Counselor I's concentrate on higher level skill development, such as symptom management, social skills, and assertiveness. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling, plus one year of paid experience is required. Annual compensation starts at $28,500 (in Licensed Treatment Residences) and is paid hourly. No current openings.

MICA Specialist requires a CASAC (preferred) or Master's degree (plus one year paid substance abuse experience) or BA degree in Human Services (plus three years paid substance abuse experience). Work with groups and 1:1; knowledge of substance abuse, intervention strategies, relapse prevention, and mental health issues required. Annual compensation range: $30,700 - $34,700 and is paid hourly. No current openings.

Recreation Coordinator requires a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling, plus a minimum of one year paid human services experience. Also requires knowledge of physical fitness and community resources. Annual compensation range: $26,500 - $29,000 and is paid hourly. No current openings.

Supported Housing Specialist to provide advisement to and be an advocate for tenants, by assisting in establishing and maintaining living facilities and assisting with facilitation  and linkage to community resources. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, COTA, nursing, or closely related field, plus one year of paid direct care experience is required.  In addition, applicant is required to use personal auto, with reimbursed mileage.  Annual compensation starts at $26,500 and is paid hourly. No on-call. No current openings.

Supportive Case Manager to provide advisement to and be an advocate for residents living in an adult (geriatric) home. Establish and maintain all community linkages and case management services. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, COTA, nursing, or closely related field, plus two years of paid direct care experience is required (OR a Master's degree in a related field).  In addition, applicant is required to use personal auto, with reimbursed mileage.  Annual compensation range: $27,500 - $34,700. No current openings.

Intake Counselor to serve as liaison between potential clients and admission to the agency. Responsible for accurate assessments and intensive writing. Must possess a minimum of one year paid human services experience, plus a relevant degree (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling) and car.  Annual compensation range is $26,500 - $34,700. No current openings.

Adolescent Counselor to provide support and focus on daily living, social skills & self-esteem building with adolescents, ages 14 to 18. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology,  or closely related field, plus one year of paid direct care experience is required. Experience with adolescents preferred. Overnight hours are required. Compensation range (for full-time) is   $27,965 - $29,213. No current openings.

Supervising Counselors provide leadership and direct all functions within a program. They are responsible for ensuring program compliance with NYSOMH and for implementation of psychiatric rehabilitation principles and practices in providing services to residents. Supervisors are responsible for the job performance of program staff. A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology plus two years direct service experience in a mental health or human service setting OR a Bachelor's degree in the field, with a minimum of four years experience in a mental health or human service setting is required. Salary range: $35,500 - $38,500. No current openings.

Support Staff provide services to the residents and staff, including administrative, technical, and maintenance support. No current openings.

All direct-care positions require a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and to pass a criminal background check. Some positions also require an automobile.
